Touch-free, chemical-free, UV-free disinfection

Breakthroughs in LED technology have enabled the development of highly efficient disinfection devices! Visible antimicrobial blue light (aBL) is used to disinfect surfaces, rooms and air in a safe and controlled manner without side effects or risks to staff or patients.

Multi-Wavelength, High-Intensity (MWHI) blue light technology

Spectral Blue MWHI Technology

Touch-free blue light disinfection, without UV light or chemicals, without risks or side effects.

Sustainable technology for disinfection

The touch-free Spectral Blue™ disinfection technology uses high-intensity blue light with multiple wavelengths.

Spectral Blue™

Spectral Blue™ has developed a contactless, UV-free and chemical-free disinfection technology that is patented and whose effectiveness has been proven by its own and more than 2,000 public studies.

Spectral Blue™ technology

Multi-Wavelength, High-Intensity (MWHI) blue light is a patented technology that combines two high-intensity antimicrobial wavelengths, 405 nm and 450 nm.

Die MWHI-Technologie wurde für Spectral Blue™ von LED Tailor® developed and patented and is used exclusively in Spectral Blue™ devices.

The UV-free, LED-based MWHI light eliminates bacteria, viruses, yeasts and molds while being safe for humans and animals and being gentle to sensitive materials such as plastics.

Spectral Blue™ was developed for continuous room disinfection and is also effective against biofilms and multi-resistant strains.

UV light and blue light disinfection - what are the differences?

Ultraviolet (UV) radiation is well-known for its antimicrobial properties. It is a well-established solution for disinfection of surfaces, air and water, and has been in use for decades. The UV part of the electromagnetic spectrum of light comprises wavelengths in the 100 to 400 nanometer range. The most efficient wavelengths used for disinfection purposes are within the UVC band, at around 254-265 nanometers. The term UVC disinfection typically refers to UVC radiation at this narrow range.

Antimicrobial blue light (aBL) means certain wavelengths of visible light inside the blue band, within 405-470 nanometer range. While the antimicrobic properties of visible blue light have been known for decades, blue light disinfection has only become practical and economically viable relatively recently through innovation and rapid advancements in LED technology. LED Tailor's Spectral Blue technology is based on multi-wavelength visible blue light.

Spectral Blue continous desinfection

Continuous disinfection is a game-changer for long-term effectiveness.

Safe operation without risks

Spectral Blue™ disinfection devices emit blue light with several wavelengths (no UV light!), which automatically and evenly disinfects the room air and surfaces.

Unlike chemicals or dangerous UVC radiation, blue light is completely safe for humans and animals and does not damage materials such as sensitive plastics. This means you can use Spectral Blue™ for automated continuous disinfection and several consecutive short or long disinfection cycles can be run day and night.

Continous desinfection

Spectral Blue™ keeps the bacterial load low around the clock and prevents recontamination.

Continuous disinfection: Spectral Blue keeps facilities hygienically clean throughout the day

The safe use of Spectral Blue™ devices allows continuous disinfection via timers or mobility sensors.

This works excellently in all areas, whether operating rooms, preparation rooms, waiting and meeting rooms, storage and laboratory rooms and all sanitary facilities.

Continuous disinfection first gradually reduces the microbial count and then keeps it at a low level around the clock.

The risk of contamination is minimized and you can reduce the use of chemicals.

Compared to conventional disinfection, Spectral Blue™ turns the contamination curve on its head: with chemical disinfection, you can kill microbes quickly, but the effect does not last long. Re-contamination sets in as soon as a room is used again.

Advantages of the patented (MWHI) blue light technology:

  • 100% safe for humans, animals and materials, without risk or side effects.
  • Chemical-free: Avoids harmful residues or by-products, making it an environmentally conscious choice.
  • Automatic logging of disinfection cycles.
  • Simple check of functionality with visible blue light.
  • Outstanding efficiency with biofilms, liquids, transparent materials such as glass or plastics.
  • Highly effective in shaded areas due to high reflection of blue wavelengths.
  • Resistance-free: In contrast to conventional methods, Spectral Blue™ reduces the possibility of microbial resistance developing.
  • 100% sustainable and durable with up to 50,000 operating hours.
